2008 Merchant of the Year

Joseph Merritt & Company Honored for their Century of Service at the Franklin Avenue Merchants Association Annual Banquet.

The Franklin Avenue Merchants Association (FAMA) presented its 2008 Merchant of the year award to Joseph Merritt & Company’s President & CEO, Ed Perry, for its dedication to the South Hartford Community.  On Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the 18th Annual Awards Banquet, FAMA’s President Alphonse (Al) Marotta, presented the award to Mr. Perry for Joseph Merritt & Company’s Century of Service in the Hartford area while serving the community of South Hartford for more than 40 years.

 

FAMA is a non-profit Connecticut Corporation that is dedicated to improving the business environment in the Franklin Avenue and  the overall South end of Hartford Community.  Its mission is to improve the South end area and Franklin Avenue as an attractive place to conduct business, dine, shop and live.  FAMA’s activities and all of its proceeds are granted to the improvement of Hartford’s South end area.  As   FAMA grows in scope and membership, it is gaining the ability to address common community and business issues and opportunities, provide a solid voice to the South end, and to help the continued prosperity of its business members.

 

“Many of our current and past employees evidence our multi-cultural heritage, and so it is fitting to be located for so long in Hartford’s South end, where you will find the ‘International Taste of Hartford,’” Ed Perry states when addressing the crowd regarding his team of employees at Joseph Merritt.  Perry continues to add, “I tip my hat off to Al Marotta, FAMA’s current President, for the fine job that he is doing in keeping our association alive and prospering.”

 

In its 100th year of service to the Hartford area, Joseph Merritt & Company continues to grow as a marketing communications company helping its customers look their best through printing and imaging services.
