At the Tuckerton Seaport is a re-creation of Tucker’s Island Lighthouse. In 1927 the original lighthouse toppled into the sea. This one is located some six miles west of its original location where it should be quite safe from the sea.
Navesink overlooks the entrance to New York Bay. When installation was completed in 1841, it was the first lighthouse in the United States to be equipped with a Fresnel lens.

This lighthouse was built in 1859 and continues operation to this day. The tower is 157 ft. 6 in. tall from the ground to the top.
Lucy Jenkins-Young's Biography:
As an artist and an amateur photographer I find power in discovering the exquisite in the ordinary. Sometimes a photograph is merely a gem, meant only to be appreciated for its beauty; other times a photograph can be a tool. In both cases however, a photograph has power - whether it be the power to educate, or to deliver a message or show beauty that would likely be overlooked. I have no idea where photography will take me, but for now, I am content with taking photographs that others can enjoy.
