Winning Photo: "Saddle Bronc Riding"

This photo was taken at the annual Labor Day Rodeo in Ridgway, Colorado which is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. The rodeo highlights a weekend at the county fair which also includes a livestock competition, parade, dance and barbecue.

As well as the barrel racing there is bareback bronc riding, calf roping, saddle bronc riding, steer and team roping, steer wrestling and bull riding. Extra events include wild cow milking, steer packing and relay races.

 

Robert Rohrer's Biography:

Robert Rohrer is a local Telluride resident having settled in the area after a 30 year career with IBM in Connecticut. Robert is currently enjoying a second career as an EMT and ski instructor for the Telluride Adaptive skiing program for people with special needs. He has been an amateur photographer for 30 years with plenty of material to work with in southwestern Colorado. In addition to photography, he can be found motorcycling, bicycling, fly fishing, rock climbing and thoroughly enjoying life in Colorado.
